THE BEAR AND THE LION
Who we were, who we are, who we will be
I was sixty-five years old when I started the search and investigation for my mothers’ paternal and maternal origin history and of the origins of their syntax in linguistics the Cervantes dialect, their culture and customs and of their obvious morphology and features, also; of what life was like for them when they were growing up in the Lower Rio Grande Basin.
Meantime; all of my mothers’ maternal and paternal ancestry dating back through 1845 which is when Estaquio Nicanor was born in and around San Marcial, San Antonio and San Antonito before New Mexico was a territory in 1855. However; my mothers’ maternal grandma named Marcelina Alderete according to the census count of 1855 she and her brothers and sisters are listed as living in Southern Apache country. Moreover; according to Felix Torres who is a New Mexico origin history specialist; Marcelina a was born in Montecello, now the home of the Chihene Apache and of the noted chief Vittorio. *I have been there with friends and bathed in the sacred waters the Apache Springs nearby. However; according to Andreita her mother was born in Frisco, New Mexico which is near Reserve, New Mexico.
